Today started the first day of creating the sugar showpiece. My partner and I decided on make something "artsy". Our background is going to be a large painters palette. On the base you will see a silouette of a "painter", a paintbrush, and we are going to decorate the back of the sculpture with flowers that will be partially airbrushed to give the effect of a work of art in progress.

It takes apx 30 min to melt down the sugar to the correct temperature and consistency. Once we started pouring and making molds my hands got way to sticky to be able to take anymore photos. It was such a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and we haven't even started assembling anything yet!
